FENUGREEK PARATHA

Methi ( Fenugreek) Paratha

In India , fenugreek has a significant importance in many rituals , dishes, drinks ,etc. Parathas are also very famous Punjabi dishes comprised of wheat flour and various stuffings like eggs, vegetables like Potatoes , Cabbage, etc. I love fenugreek parathas and I regularly have it in my tiffin at college. I am gonna share with u an easy recipe with a Gujarati blend to it.

Steps:
1) Wash the Fenugreek Leaves neatly so that all the dirt will get washed away. Then chop it into small bits but let it retain its leafy structure.(my Granny cooks)

2) Add 3.75 cups of Wheat flour. Along with that , add 2 tablespoons of Gram flour ( heaped), pinches of Turmeric and salt, 1/2 tablespoon chilli powder, 2 teaspoons Garam Masala, some ajwain seeds ( for digestion ) and 4 tablespoons of whisked curd .

3) Mix it evenly and there should be no lumps. Add water as needed in batches. Knead it properly so it will form a dough which is not too rough nor too sticky. Just the right balance. Pat it with some oil on the surface and cover it with a lid and leave it for 30 minutes.

4) After 1/2 hour , remove it and form parathas by first dividing them and then dusting flour whenever required and then patting and then with the help of a roller(belan), make parathas .
5) In a pan ( flat ) , add small amount of oil and then let it get heated. Then add the parathas slowly with your hand and then , let it get cooked until it turns greenish brown and properly cooked. The aroma of cooked parathas will start to come . Remove it from the pan and spread some ghee on it. Serve it piping hot with mango pickle(raw) , sauce , curd or butter. I chose ketchup as other flavourings weren't available.

So this is the recipe which I have made. You must definitely try this if you are in a hurry to go to school and you need healthy and vegetable-filled meals but fast - made ones too also if you have less ingredients or in an emergency. So in such cases , this recipe is perfect and also great for the naughty children who hate eating green veggies.
Please share this recipe to your family and friends and stay HEALTHY and HAPPY !
